Public Notice - Proposed Substantial Amendment to the FY2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan

NOTICE IS GIVEN, the Hanford City Council will hold a public meeting Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 7:00 pm at the Hanford Council Chambers at 400 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230, to consider the approval of the Substantial Amendment to the 2021 Annual Action Plan (AAP).

The City of Hanford (City) is an Entitlement City in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The City received a CDBG Entitlement allocation in the amount of $558,523 for the Fiscal Year (FY) 1 2021-2022.  Through its AAP process for FY 2021-2022, the City committed $200,000 of CDBG funds towards the Hanford Police Activity League (PAL) parking lot Improvements. Through a Substantial Amendment process, the City of Hanford (City) proposes to allocate an additional $39,000 of FY 2021-2022 CDBG program income to the Hanford Police League (PAL) parking facilities improvements project. This action would result in a total commitment of $200,000, FY 2021-2022 AAP CDBG Entitlement funds, and $39,000 to the PAL parking lot improvements.

  CDBG funds will cover the additional cost due to the increase in materials. The project will receive $239,000 in CDBG Funds from the 2021 Action Plan.
