CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH (CDPH) ANNOUNCES STATEWIDE ENDING TO REGIONAL STAY AT HOME ORDER

HANFORD, CA – Officials with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced an end today to the statewide Regional Stay at Home Order, which includes that San Joaquin Valley region. This action allows Kings County to return to the rules and framework of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy and color-coded tiers that indicate which activities and businesses are open based on local case rates and test positivity. Kings County and the City of Hanford are currently in the purple tier, as are the majority of counties exiting the Regional Stay at Home Order today. Services and activities, such as outdoor dining and personal services, may resume immediately with required modifications.
Additionally, the City would like to make the public aware of the following matters:
• This change signals a Return to Outdoor Dining with modifications; and
• Allows Nail and Hair salons to reopen indoors with modifications and 100% masking
The City recognizes the hardship that these restrictions have on businesses within Hanford and we will continue to make allowances for more outdoor activities and dining options as we move forward towards a full reopening. However, the City also recognizes a responsibility to the Citizens of Hanford to relay timely and accurate information and to operate the City in a manner as to minimize any potential transmission and in accordance with the guidance given by the State and Federal Government. Upon hearing of the removal of the Stay at Home Order, Mayor Francisco Ramirez had the following words of encouragement for our community, “We are #HanfordStrong. The more you mask up and wash your hands, the faster businesses can stay open permanently. Local businesses depend on us and we depend on those local businesses. So remember, #ShopHanford.”
As a reminder, the City has already established a separate web page for citizens to access COVID-19 Resources at www.cityofhanfordca.com. We urge all citizens to use the links on that page to keep informed on the ever-changing information.
