City of Hanford Animal Control Field Services

Animal control field services are provided to the residents of Hanford through a division of the Hanford Police Department. The Field Service Officer is the person who responds to an animal-related problem and enforces the City ordinances related to animal control. 
 
To report an animal-related problem, please contact the Hanford Police Department at (559) 585-2540, and choose Option 1 to speak to a dispatcher. 

The City of Hanford is responsible for the licensing of all dogs within the city limits.  Hanford residents can obtain new dog licenses or renew existing licenses at the Hanford Police Department. For dog licensing information, contact the Hanford Police Department, and choose Option 0 to speak to the receptionist.

The Hanford Police Department is located at 425 North Irwin Street. Normal business hours for the lobby are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
