The City of Hanford’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program has ended.
Residents and small business owners who have been economically impacted by COVID-19 may be eligible for assistance through the City of Hanford’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Program starting July 13, 2020. These programs are provided by the City’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES), Community Block Development Grant (CDBG), through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The City of Hanford CARES, the Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides financial assistance to low- and moderate-income residents, emphasizing those negatively impacted by COVID. This program offers up to (3) three months of rental assistance. Payments will be made directly to the owner/landlord. Residents are not expected to pay back this assistance. Awards will be based on the availability of CDBG CARES Act (CDBG-CV) funds. Applicants will need to submit an application and documentation proving eligibility.
