In an effort to help the community connect to our parks and provide volunteer opportunities for all, Hanford Parks & Recreation has started a new volunteer program called Hanford Helping Hands. Once a month, volunteers will meet to make improvements at one of our beloved City parks.
The program kicked off on January 14 to coincide with the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Day of Service.
About 30 people showed up at Quail Run Park (in the rain) to help make some improvements to the park. Many of Saturday's volunteers were Naval Air Station Lemoore service members.
On volunteer days, the City will provide the necessary tools and materials and give guidance on what would be helpful to improve the park.
Volunteer days take place the second Saturday of each month. See full 2023 schedule (PDF).
